Hi everyone:) I want to share with you some of my reading this morning b/c I think we can all benefit from a little encouragement. This is taken from a daily reader by John Maxwell.
Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you. What will you do for a career? Who will you marry? Where will you live? How much education will you get? What will you do with today? But one of the most important choices you will make is who will you become! Life is not merely a matter of holding and playing a good hand as you would hope to do in a card game. What you start with isn't up to you. Talent is God-given. Life is playing the hand you have been dealt well. That is determined by your choices.
The talent-plus people are the ones who maximize their talent, reach their potential, and fulfill their destiny.
I was reading a book by Dr. Suess called Oh, The Places You'll Go! In it, I found a wonderful truth. It said,
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose.
I believe that with all my heart. My prayer is that you steer yourself in the right direction and make right choices that will empower you to become a talent-plus person, build upon the foundation of your abilities, and live your life to its fullest potential.
I thought that was very inspiring. We are the only ones who can determine our future! It doesn't matter what our past was, or what is going on right now, we can make choices to do something proactive. I always find this difficult b/c I like to be in control:0 When things are't going how I want or think they should be I very easily get discouraged. My mom, who is an amazing woman, and amazing Life Coach (www.purposefilledcoaching.com) always helps me put things back into prospective. She says, "Can you change those people?" "Can you make them do things how you want?" Of course I can not so she says, "You can change yourself and your mind set". When we let people or circumstances, whatever they may be control us we give up our control. Instead of doing our part to the best of our ability and than trusting God to do the rest we are giving in. So be encouraged today that you have breath, you have a mind, and you can become who you were created to be!
That was my tangent for the day!
Ok, I can finally post two of my favorite little people to photograph:) This was a surprise session for Dad for Father's day so I couldn't post any of their images until after Dad got his book. They are so cute!
Cruz is so sweet, he's a such a good boy.
Sofia has such a great personality! She has been getting her picture taken since she was born:) She's an expert now!
This was one of Dad's gifts
Thanks, Jaime Nicole
